Sensei-IN

is a judo club developed of a great love for the sport of judo. It is the first judo club in Serbia that provides sport activities for all age groups and all levels of abilities. The idea of opening the judo club for competitive activities, for people with developmental disorders and disabilities, recreational players, and women, arose as a result of 25 years of dedication and work in the judo. The idea started from the fact that practicing physical activity and sport should be available to everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability level.
Sensei-IN was founded in 2020. We are one of the youngest judo clubs in our country. Still, our founder has over 10 years of experience in systematic training on proper physical and motor development of children and people with disabilities inspired by smiles, happiness, and positive energy. Over 150 participants have gone through our training programs for children and people with disabilities.

The main goal of our training programs is to have healthy growing up and healthy living style, positive motivation for training work, to get to know and love exercise and sports, and to acquire positive social skills. The greatest value of our programs is to systematically achieve a personal, individual approach to each of our members through group work. Our work programs are designed to achieve the following goals:

Such a demanding and responsible task is performed exclusively by a highly educated professor of sports and physical education with the help of assistant coaches. Although judokas are divided into groups, we try to maintain an individual approach to each member as much as possible. At the moment we are divided into two groups:

Slovenia

Sankaku Ljubljana

Judo Club Sankaku Ljubljana is a non-exclusive judo club founded in 2019. This means that they equally include all judo enthusiasts in their programs, regardless of judokas psychophysical abilities or social circumstances. They work in many national and international projects. A large part of the activities takes place under the auspices of the Judo Federation of Slovenia. They also cooperate with the Special Olympics of Slovenia, the ŠIS-SPK Association, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia and international organizations such as the European Judo Union, Special Olympics Europe Eurasia, Special Needs Judo Union and participate in Erasmus+ projects.

Club Sankaku Ljubljana gathers 60 diverse abilities judokas. Their way is inclusion and commitment to not excluding vulnerable individuals from sports. This is achieved by a different approach to the exercise itself, with participation in international projects, public announcements and professional and scientific articles. Representatives of the club regularly attend seminars and actively participate in congresses where they present social inclusion in sports, especially judo.

The operation of the club is based on equal opportunities for all athletes. This means that diverse abilities athletes equally choose sports programs from recreation to top sports. They use the judo philosophy of respect and reciprocity to support the non-exclusion processes.

Croatia

Judo team FUJI

The Judo Club for People with Disabilities "Fuji" was established in August 2012 and is the first registered club of its kind in Croatia. Currently, the club involves 54 children and young people with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, motor difficulties, autism, and other challenges. Unfortunately, due to the inability to further expand, insufficient financial support, and the fact that we do not have our own dojo, we also have a waiting list of approximately 75 children.

There are currently 10 coaches involved in the club's activities. The uniqueness of our work lies in the fact that there are few judo clubs in the world that focus on children with different types of difficulties, as well as the inclusion of both children with and without difficulties. All activities we carry out involve the participation of children with and without difficulties.

Training sessions, tournaments, excursions, camps, participation in the Wings for Life race, barbecues, concerts, theaters, lectures, workshops, sports equipment, judogi... we continuously provide all of the mentioned services completely free of charge to our members.

We believe that through our work, we have set new standards for inclusion not only in Croatia but also globally. We like to say that we live inclusion, not just implement it. The club is the winner of the #BeInclusive award from the European Commission for the year 2018.

The institute's mission is to include and accept fellow human beings on a holistic level and to take into account and develop the diverse abilities of everyone. Through our activities, we want to emphasize the power of acceptance, respect and cooperation. We realize our vision by participating in projects at the national and European level and organizing camps, events and workshops for children and adults of diverse abilities, as well as by educating and raising awareness among people about diverse abilities, mutual acceptance and cooperation for the benefit of all.

This summer we will organize 2nd inclusive camp for all. Our camp brings together neurotypical children, children and adults of diverse abilities and invisible young athletes. The aim of the camp is to include and accept fellow human beings and to take into account and develop the diverse abilities of everyone through play, movement, music, contact with animals and nature.

The main guideline is the creation of a safe, encouraging and loving environment, where people of diverse abilities and invisible youg athletes are accepted and included, and each of them contributes in their own way. Neurotypical children have the opportunity to meet people of diverse abilities, overcome prejudices and strengthen important virtues such as compassion, tolerance, patience, acceptance, respect. In the spirit of inclusion, with the appropriate support, wonderful friendships are formed that shape a more beautiful and kinder world for everyone.
